Well, more specifically, the Yuba County grand jury needs a few good people. Michael Boom, the grand jury foreman was in studio today to talk about recruiting new members of the grand jury. Mr. Boom says it's about a 3 hour a week time commitment and it's a great way to serve your community.

Wayne Helm was in studio today to talk to us about Challenger Little League. Wayne is the coordinator for all of District 2 and the division is run through Olivehurst Linda Little League. The Challenger division is for special needs kids and everyone plays. Sign-ups are the 22nd, 29th, and March 7th from 6-7:30 PM at the Yuba City fire hall on Clark avenue. Wayne could use some volunteer help as well, so if you have the time, this is an awesome way to spend it. Call Wayne in the evenings at 821-0310. You will not regret the time you spend with these teams.
Dierks Bentley was on the Ellen show recently and was introduced to a military couple for whom money was very tight and one of them was getting ready to re-deploy to Afghanistan. It was so bad that they were selling their furniture and appliances on Craigslist. So, Dierks decided to give them a little help.
Credit for the video goes, of course, to the Ellen show.
The kids from Debbie Jones' class at Arboga Elementary School class were in studio to talk about mosquitos. For the second year in a row, a class from Arboga won the Lexus Eco Challenge, which A) Comes with a 10,000 dollar prize, and B) Shows that the kids from Arboga are awesome.
The team is called the Threatening Stingerz and their project was about the dangers of mosquitos and how to prevent problems. They have now moved on to the second phase of the competition and could win 30,000 more. The video is part of their project.
Our traffic reporter Jaime is about a month away from having a baby. And you can tell how excited she is in this picture of her pole dancing on Valentines day.
Michelle Taylor (or her husband...who could use the help) wins a dozen roses from Country Florist, dinner for two at Marcello's Restaurant, and 300 dollars to spend at Harry Ritchies Jewelers. We thank everyone who entered and many of you have gotten interesting, shall we say "surprises", but Michelle seemed to stand out. Here is her entry:
So it was a toss up as to which gift I would talk about. It was either the gift of earrings (I received after we were married for 11 years) when I don't have my ears pierced, or the butt cream. I decided it will be about the butt cream.
He was so proud of himself because it "smelled good". My husband went to the Mall and shopped at Bath & Body Works. He finally settled on something called "Bringing Up the Rear". It was cellulite cream for your backside. All I could do was smile politely and say, "Thank You". I asked him if he knew what it was, but all he knew was that it smelled nice. Nice try!
We just celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary and I've just learned to smile and say thank you when I get gifts from him. I guess it's true love if you stick around after receiving butt cream for Valentine's Day.
Congrats again Michelle, and have a great Valentines day,
I can not, for the life of me, figure out why ANYONE would think this is a good idea.
There is a term I am familiar with that describes the condition of getting really sweaty in that area. I wont use it here, but who would pay for that feeling?
Lupita Ramos and Alexia Vargas play in the Colusa High band. They applied for a chance to play in a super cool high school music concert at Carnegie Hall in NYC. And they got in!
They have been fundraising, but could still use a little help getting the money together for the trip. If you can help, send a check to:
